Malawi is a land of diverse landscapes with rolling green hills, high plateaus, forests and farmlands, game parks and spectacular mountain ranges including Mount Mulanje, central Africa's highest peak. Malawi's biggest attraction, however, is Lake Malawi, which takes up a full fifth of the country. This inviting lake stretches away like an inland tropical sea filled with clear, warm water and dotted with rocky islands. Other reserves in Malawi include the Kasungu National Park and the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve.

Although Malawi does have game parks, it is not a renowned big game destination. That said, it is known the world over for incredible bird watching, and Liwonde National Park offers exciting boat safaris through crocodile and hippo filled rivers.
