The origin of the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town dates back to Jan van Riebeeck, who arrived here in 1652.
Construction of the Castle of Good Hope building started in 1666 and it took about 30 years to complete the pentagon-shaped structure.
The stone blocks that were used at the Castle of Good Hope were brought in from Holland and today it is the oldest building in South Africa.
Opening times are daily from 9am to 4pm.
The Key Ceremony takes place at 10am and the Change of Guards at 12 o'clock from Monday to Friday.
